The building
One57's curtain wall of roughly 8,200 glass panels in blues, silver, and pewter reads as vertical stripes, with curved setbacks meant to evoke cascading water. The lower floors house the 210-room Park Hyatt New York, Hyatt's flagship United States hotel, giving residents access to full hotel services and one of the finest Central Park perches in the city.
The story of One57
Developed by Extell and completed in 2014, One57 was the first ultra-luxury supertall condominium on 57th Street and is widely credited with launching Billionaires' Row. Its duplex penthouse sold for 100.5 million dollars in 2014, a New York record at the time; the buyer was later revealed to be Michael Dell.
