The building

The tower rises from a roughly 75-foot-wide granite base, contextual to the Flatiron's masonry, then cantilevers outward as it climbs, widening to about 125 feet near the top and giving upper residences expansive light and views. Interiors are by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, and a tuned mass damper counters the wind at height.

The story of 45 East 22nd Street

Developed by Ian Bruce Eichner's Continuum Company, 45 East 22nd Street was conceived as a sculptural counterpoint to the neighborhood's prewar towers. Its faceted glass form, engineered to widen toward the sky, became one of the boldest additions to the Flatiron skyline in a generation.

Roughly five floors of amenities include a fitness center with a boxing and private-training suite, a golf simulator, a basketball court, a playroom, a duplex library, a billiards room, a landscaped terrace with an outdoor grill, and a 54th-floor private club.
