One Madison
A pencil-thin glass tower of stacked cubes rising over Madison Square Park.
One Madison is a 60-story, 621-foot condominium tower at 23 East 22nd Street, on Madison Square Park in the Flatiron district. Designed by CetraRuddy and completed in 2013, its slender form and stacked glass cubes made it one of the most distinctive residential towers of its era, with 51 residences.
The building
One Madison is among the slenderest towers in the world, with a height-to-width ratio near twelve to one. A bronze-toned glass shaft is articulated by asymmetrical, cantilevered white-glass cubes, and the structure relies on a cruciform core and a rooftop damping system to stay steady in the wind. The story of One Madison
Begun in 2006 and topped out in 2010, the tower stalled amid the financial crisis and a tangle of litigation before a group led by Related Companies, with CIM Group and HFZ Capital, took it over and completed it in 2013. One of New York's most troubled developments became one of its most sought-after addresses.Amenities
Residents enjoy roughly a 50-foot lap pool, a steam room, a fitness center, a yoga room, a screening room, a private dining room, a playroom, and a doorman and concierge.Notable residents
