Lantern House
Thomas Heatherwick's bay-window towers straddling the High Line.
Lantern House is a two-tower luxury condominium designed by Heatherwick Studio, developed by Related and completed in 2021. A 22-story west tower and a 10-story east tower straddle the High Line, wrapped in a brick-and-bronze facade of bulbous, double-height bay windows that read like hanging lanterns, holding roughly 181 residences from one to four bedrooms.
The building
The lantern windows pull light deep into the residences and frame the park below, set within a custom masonry facade. The amenities are among the most complete in West Chelsea, including a 75-foot swimming pool, a wellness suite, and an Equinox-managed fitness program overlooking the High Line.
The neighborhood
Lantern House sits on West 18th Street, straddling the High Line. West Chelsea is a design-driven, condo-heavy market along the High Line and the Hudson, where the building and the architect drive value as much as the block. Read the full picture in our West Chelsea real estate guide.
